Brother is the worst company ever!

We current use ONLY Brother printers in our office. We recently purchased a color printer HL-4040CDN. Within a year of purchase we started to have reoccuring errors with our toner cartridges leaking. We contacted Brother about the issue and they gladly replaced our toners...this issue continued for 8 more phone calls and 8 more toners! When I finally got fed up and spoke to a manager after the 8th toner began to leak AGAIN; I was told that Brother would only replace my toner cartridge (with yet another DEFECTIVE cartridge) and refused to acknowledge that the printer had a problem. The manager told me to take my business elsewhere if I was not satisfied with the printer-WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

Overcharge for return shipping

Purchased printer from Brother and returned it promptly. Used wrong shipping label from my UPS packet and even though I told the local UPS office that I wanted to send it Regular Ground they did not tell me that I was using a label that made it a 2-Day Air. Therefore, I just received a bill from UPS for $256.04; Normally the shipping costs would have been $62.95. I only paid $199 for the printer!! The UPS supervisor at 1-80*-811-**** reduced the charges $100.00 to $156.04. I'm hoping that you can reduce the charges to $62.95. Alvin A. Andrews Shipper number: FOR925

Brothers 420CN breaks within 6 months

Brother 420Cn seeps to be a great product with scanner, print, fax and copier, however ink well areas ar poorly made. We purchased this model twice because I liked it but both printers ink jets clogged and rendered the printing either strangely colored or not printing at all. Wish it was better. I attempted clearing by doing all recommended nozzle cleaning and it didn't help. The steps recommended to clear/clean the nozzles made no difference and on one of the models resulted in reddish ink. After a while the scanner only worked half the time and only scanned half a page.

Brother MFC 845C printer
This top-of-the-line Multi-function printer stopped printing after only one year, and very light home use, perhaps only 200 pages! It had used about 5 sets of cartridges (at about $75 for a set), and was in perfect condition. Since I have eight years of electronic education, and repair experience, I attempted to disassemble it to manually clean the print-head and clean the nozzles. The case was designed as a one-way snapfit case, making service impossible. You have to break the connections to get access to anything inside. I continued to find other planned obsolescent designs, in that things would break, just getting access to the printer's guts, making this an unreliable ripoff. I am posting photos of the connectors and the printer on several websites and will be returning my printer to Brother, holding the designers accountable. This shoud have lasted 5 years, and definitely thousands and thousands of prints. Companies, and their designers need to be held accountable for making products that cannot be serviced; do not perform past abysmal performance; and keep filling up our landfills, and emptying our pockets. Where do these designers live, and why are we not filing class-action suits against thousands of them, to stop the cheap production of cheap products?

Brother Printer rob with the cartridges

Brother Printer is the most worst printers, is a robbery that Brother's force to buy a color cartridge when the Color cartridges have run out, to be able to print. I only use B & W Print and this printer does not let to me print because colors cartridges have run out,I almost lose a client by this *** machine. I want tell to everybody that never buys Brother printers, is a terrible investment. Brother fax machine eats a toner cartridge a day!

I bought a Brother MFC 640cw. The thing eats "magenta ink" at an alarming rate. I can print about 20 black and white pages (I never use color) and, it according to rep, "cleans itself" using "magenta" ink at $23 a pop!! Machine will not function unless it has this "magenta" ink cartridge even though I only use black and white copies. Another customer complained that the brother machines use ink "like an alcoholic devouring a case of booze". That pretty much has been my experience as well!! I won't ever buy a brother product at all. Customer service sucks, too!!

My Brother Multifunction Model MFC-465CN also guzzles through all 4 cartridges and won't work unless all 4 are full.

This has resulted in me (laid off since May '09) spending hundreds on toner cartridges trying to find a job that doesn't exist out there.

After spending $160 on cartridges this weekend, I'm ready to throw it in the Amvets bag. What a waste! It also runs through a couple of cartridges just to print out 2-3 normal pictures. And the pictures come out dull, dark, and horrible!

I'm looking into a Kodak. They advertise their cartridges are the cheapest. I'm sure the upfront cost of the machine will be high to compensate.

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED BROTHER...I WON'T BE BACK EITHER!
